ISCBFM also offers membership to Sustaining Associate Members, who receive the following benefits  (Society, Industry Company, or Foundation only) :

  • Listing in the Journal of Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism and in the Organ
  • Listing on ISCBFM website with the option of a link to own website, listing in the membership directory
  • One complementary registration at the Brain meeting and ability to other employees to register at the members rate
  • If exhibiting at Brain, a sign at your exhibit indicating that you are a sustaining associate member
  • Receipt of the Organ

The following categories of membership are available:

Regular Membership - open to individuals who have a record of research in cerebral blood flow, metabolism, and function, from basic to clinical aspects across a wide spread of interdisciplinary fields with continued activity in such research.

Early Career Investigators (ECI):

  • Student Early Career Investigators: Students who are enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate, professional degree, or medical specialty program (e.g., bachelor’s, master’s or PhD student; graduate student; medical student; neurology, neurosurgery or anesthesia resident or trainee). Student ECIs are not eligible to vote in teh elections of the Society.
  • Scholar Early Career Investigators:Those with a PhD, MD or equivalent degree who have been in a research training program for less than 5 years since obtaining their last degree (e.g., research fellow; postdoctoral associate; postdoctoral fellow)
  • Full Early Career Investigators: Scientists with PhD, MD or equivalent who either          (1) have begun independent tracks leading to or with theirown groups within the last 6 years (e.g., Assistant Professor; Lecturer; Reader; Docent; Research Scientist), or           (2) who are not in an independent track but have begun employment in a research program, typically under the direction of a more senior scientist, within the last 6 years (e.g., staff scientist, research associate).

Applicants that do not yet have authored or co-authored publications should provide information about their past and current scientific activities. You may apply for bursaries for the biennial symposia. Most importantly, your membership will help you to stay at the forefront of new research and knowledge concerning cerebral blood flow, metabolism, and function.

Emeritus Membership - Members will be eligible for Emeritus Membership upon retiring from their regular professional duties. Emeritus members will receive all ISCBFM newsletters and are eligible for reduced registration fees to ISCBFM meetings. Members interested in Emeritus membership are asked to contact the ISCBFM Administrative Office
